the Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center
At least we know someone is watching.
When I was writing about the Sacramento County Mental Health Treatment Center ("SCMHTC," Sacramento's County mental hospital), I looked up their web site. Only fair, I thought, to link to the site so my readers could see what SCMHTC had to say about themselves. I expected to find a site with helpful information for people who want services or have a hospitalized friend or relative. Heck, even my
grocery store has a web site, surely a $7,000,000/year operation with a mission of caring for the community would at least post a simple page to help guide families in crisis. Instead, I found an "under construction" page that was already
over a year old!:
I linked to it and (somewhat uncharitably) quipped "[the] web site demonstrates their commitment to timely community outreach." Within
days of my posting, the page was replaced with one that redirected to the generic DHHS home page.
if they can't, I will...

Here's hoping that the Department of Behavioral Health Services can post a page containing this information with the same alacrity with which they removed the old page.
