fast track same day appointments

Conventional appointments are fine for small, intensive programs, but how do you handle thousands of patients with widely varying levels of function in an overburdened system? That's where SacDoc's nascent fast track same day appointments (SDAs) can redefine health care delivery. Loosely modeled on the FASTPASS system at Disney theme parks, SacDoc's SDAs accommodate patients' needs by giving them the opportunity to see a physician on the same day they request an appointment -- without long, stressful waiting room waits. Using this extraordinary system, patients call a completely automated system early in the morning, enter the same day appointment code they were given at their last visit, and are assigned a time window later in the day. Web and in-person access can be made available as well. Unlike conventional appointments, patients do not have to wait weeks or months for an available appointment time. Unlike most walk-in or standby appointment systems, patients do not have to arrive early and then wait for hours in tense, crowded waiting rooms or make multiple trips to a clinic. Patient no longer have to play phone tag for answers to questions or for medication refills, but can get answers and refills, face to face with their doctor, on the same day.

Programs and physicians benefit as well. Physicians know that patients can get timely follow up, and time wasted by appointment no-shows are eliminated. Programs get the advantage of physician utilization approaching 100% and a completely automated, hands-off appointment system that keeps patients happy as well.

With SDAs, community programs can provide a level of service that surpasses that of many commercial HMOs.
